Google Talk, also known as
Gtalk, is
Google's offer for the world of instant messaging, that has as a main advantage the possibility to let the user know if he has received new mail in his
Google Mail account, by a simple desktop notification.
To
improve this popular messenger clients communication capabilities, the developers from GLabs offer the complement
Google Voice and Video, a small utility that adds the possibility of
free voice and video calls to improve communication with Google Mail contacts.
Google Voice and Video is very easy to use. Once installed in your computer, all you have to do is access your usual
Google Mail account and open a
chat window to invite one of your Google Mail contacts to the conversation. From the conversation window, just beside the name of the contact, we will be able to see an incon with the shape of a camera that indicates if there is an active video connection. Otherwise, is we don't have websam, we can choose to start a voice conversation, as long as we have a microphone and some speakers or headphones connected to the computer.

Requirements: Works with Windows XP or above. Requires a Google Mail account and to have both Flash Player and Google Talk installed.
